Job Summary:

Job Summary:
·         Attend all team practices (typically 9am ? 2pm) as well as all 24 home games from 11/26/10 ? 3/26/11 plus potential playoff games.
·         Assist with the pre-game setup and post-game breakdown at Arena for all home games
·         Participate as needed in drills during practice as well as pre-practice setup and post-practice breakdown.
·         Assist coaches with scouting, video capturing, video editing, administrative tasks, etc.
·         Wash all practice gear, game uniforms, towels etc. after every practice and home game
·         Provide transportation for players on occasion to doctor?s appointments, physicals, etc.
·         Other duties as assigned by Head Coach/Director of Basketball Operations, Head Athletic Trainer or General Manager
Summary of Qualifications:
·         Current student or recent college graduate.
·         Available during days as well as some nights and weekends
·         Ability to communicate effectively, while in a timely manner, with both internal and external staff
·         Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as ability to multi-task and prioritize
·         Ability to work on projects independently and maintain confidential information
·         Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
·         Maintain a professional image at all times
·         Be able to work long hours and most weekends during the NBA D-League season

Athletic Training

Job Summary:
·      Work closely with the Senior Manager of Strength & Conditioning and Sport Science, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Athletic Trainers/Strength and Conditioning Specialists, Heads of Men?s and Women?s Tennis, to develop and administer performance enhancement and injury prevention programs and educational materials for elite players and coaches.
·      Make frequent contact with elite prospects and coaches to ensure implementation of and adherence to training programs.
·      Administer and coordinate under the direction of the Strength and Conditioning Coach, USTA testing, training and tracking protocols for players who train at the USTA Training Centers.
·      Work closely with the Sport Science Department in both the development of educational materials for strength training & conditioning, injury prevention and assisting in the High Performance Coaching Program (HPCP) as required.
·      Make presentations at appropriate events including High Performance Coaching Programs to help educate coaches, players and parents in the sport sciences.
·      Represent the USTA at meetings and conferences, such as NSCA, USOC, USPTA, PTR, NATA etc
Summary of Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Sport Science or related area.
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers? Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
  • Extensive knowledge of growth and developmental issues involving players that are pre-puberty, in puberty and young adults.
  • Job requires ability to present/demonstrate exercises in weight room and on the tennis court.
  • Knowledge of elite athletes with specific understanding of tennis movements/injury patterns.
  • Masters Degree in Sport Science or related area.

  • Intern will be highly involved in many of the teams marketing initiatives. Sample projects include; event planning, involvement in the team?s community relations programming and grassroots marketing initiatives. Interns will also be asked to go on outside appearances.
  • Each intern is expected to be available to work all home games. Responsibilities may include running game-day surveys, staffing a sales or marketing table, staffing the Interactive Zone, visiting seat winners, or helping with pre-game, halftime or post-game activities.
  • Hours can range 20 to 30 hours per week, in addition to working games and special events. Interns must be available on some nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate must have great communication skills, be professional and be able to multi-task. Applicant must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Any experience working for a team, athletic department, or with a sporting event is beneficial. Also, it will be beneficial if the candidate has been a basketball team manager. Candidate must have basketball knowledge. The candidate will have to be in the office between 30-40 hours a week. The intern will need to attend all home Basketball games.
