Guest Speaker Vic Mitchell (Shorter University Head WBB Coach)

We recently had the head womens basketball coach of Shorter University. He spoke to us about how he started his career by being a volunter first, the obstacles he faced as a coach; how he help developed programs such as the RC varsity sport programs, etc.; how important as a coach to have a strong foundation and supporters; how he developed his coaching style; when going to your job you should research it. He  talked to us about the keys to being and having a AD. He also gave us the break down of how a good successful athletic department (Shorter)runs and how the chain of commands are broken down. Having Coach Mitchell was a great experience it gave us an opportunity to learn from a coaching stand point the basic steps to take and showed us although you may start at a low level you can become very successful threw various opportunities.
